Still smoking (white) after new injectors and pre chambers?
Robbiellewellyn:
Have just got my Defender 90 TD back from getting new injectors and new pre chambers, yet it still pumps out tonnes of white fumes at start up. Any ideas as to what this could be? It doesnt do it after the engine has warmed up so am not really sure. I got the new injectors to stop the engine smoking, not to make it worse. Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. Cheers,

Is it still hard to start? Could be that one or more of the glow/heater plugs isn't working that could give you the unburnt fuel. White smoke can also mean water in the fuel. Have you checked the fuel filters?

or could be headgasket
take the filler cap off and see if their is any oily resudue in the water or drain abit off, also check for water in oil

Yeah it is still really hard to start. Normally i can turn the key untill the orange light thingy turns on, and leave it for about 10 seconds, it turns over a few times and then starts fine (followed by ALOT of white smoke). However now, i have to leave it heating up for a good 30 seconds or so, and have to do that about 3 times. Hope that may help abit?

As 'BigGreen' has said head gasket is a possiblity but I'd keep it simple to start by checking the glow plugs.
Either a head gasket leak or glow plugs not working could make it hard to start and give unburnt fuel or water in the exhaust; which is the white smoke you are seeing.
