PAS problem

Hi Guys,

I have a 200 TDI 90...and the steering is very heavy...at low speed its feels as if there is no PAS, at speed its ok until your get close to full lock....i have check the idle speed, the breather and the pump belt...there is no leaks from the system at all....i am thinking pump problem but not sure....any ideas guys???

The problem at full lock sounds like the valves in the steering box, but the pump is a reasonable cheap and easy thing to change first to eliminate.

Pardon me, the pump is reasonably cheap. For the 200 TDI it's really quite expensive unless you can point me in the direction of cheap!

I wanted/needed one and just could not get a used one. 300 TDI you can get 20 quid or 80 quid new but 200 TDI proper money.
