Achieving a good finish on a second hand ARB Winch Bumper

<< < (2/3) > >>

Eeyore:
If it were mine, I'd get it shot blasted and either:
a) Galv and painted, or,
b) good coat of red oxide, then painted.

Hammerite, in my experience has a fairly poor environmental resistance and will soon crack. Same with both plastic and powder coating. Once the surface cracks, water ingresses and the rust does it's business underneath away from prying eyes. Like the glav, red oxide resists this.

Cheers

Disco Bristol:
I paid £235 for it, at what point do I start spending more than its worth? I know the new ones for the disco three range from £700-£800 but that has little to do with the value of this model i think.

nickW:
just get it sand blasted and the paint it with plasticote paint, you can buy it in halfaurds and it seems to work much better than hammerite

Disco Bristol:
