1.5 inch lift or 2 inch???
TimM:
Your talking about half an inch different between the two sets.....
Read that again and put it into real terms...
HALF AN INCH
Whats that, a fingers width?
Are you going to notice it whichever you get?
bullfrog:
Just my 2 cents worth but If you want to do "offroading" then I would +2" and see how it drives. You may not notice the castor that much and should also find your prop is fine. It does make some difference and wont drive "factory" but there are always drawbacks. I would also get a set of M/Ts
If your prop is already worn then a lift will hi-light this.
If its just for a bit of "green laning" then get standard new springs/shocks or H/D ones which although a little stiffer should give you a small lift and a set of decent A/Ts.
You could trim the arches a little and go a size or 2 up on the tyres and not need a lift at all whilst gaing a bit more room under the diff.
For the difference in price I would go for +2" pver 1.5 as it will most likely sag a little over time .
It depends on what you will use it for?
If its your daily driver then probably standard stuff with bigger tyres and a little arch trimming is your best bet.

Got a 2inch lift on mine & it drives fine, also got 267/75x16 tyresa on.

Personally whatever you do in terms of suspension changes will change the handling. You will ulitmately end up with a compromise espcially if you are going to use the Discovery on a daily basis.
If I were you I'd get a second set of wheels and mud tyres and use those off-road. I think you'd be surprised (as was I) by how far a std Discovery will go off road. I ran mine for about 2 years on road tyre and did lots of green lanes, navigational rallies and event marshalling before I started modding it.
Just my tuppence worth :D
