AA Boxes

(1/7) > >>

Bush Tucker Man:
Just out of interest,as I mentioned in a posting.

Does anyone know how many, or where the surviving (wooden)  AA/RAC boxes are.

I know as in the liked post above that there's one on the A166 at the base of Garrowby Hill (to the east of York, in North Yorkshire)

The only other one I know of is on the 'summit' of the A591 between Grasmere & Thirlmere

However I've found a few on 'WebShots'
Cambus
Kirkstone Pass (not the same though)
Unidentified
Corwen (note the Post-Coach sign for the A5 to Holyhead)

Are there anymore around??

Bush Tucker Man:
I've partially answered my own question

Allegedly there's 40 left
I didn't expect that many

smo:
There is an AA box like those at Devils Bridge in Mid Wales (just outside Aberystwyth).

I'll get a pic next time we are there.

There's one on the A556 (Chester Road). Its next to the first set of traffic lights opsite mere golf and country club on the crossroads.
