ticking/tapping from v8

hello all, as above, noise from engine, now and again, sounds like an old ford OHC ticking ??
comes and goes, doing my head in....

failing hydraulic lifter i suspect.

an oil flush & change could cure it, the v8 loves regular oil changes almost as much as it loves unleaded
