Help
I have just spent all my spare cash on having the Cam belt done before our hols and now the power steering box is leaking.
It looks to be comming out of the shaft at the bottom, can I just fit a seal?
I know nothing about these so I am struggleing, have just been frightened by the price of a new recon one.
Any ideas?

drmike:
Regarding a recon unit have you looked at MM 4x4 who seem to have them on offer.

How bad is the leak my RR leaked for months and needed a little topping up now and again.

Budgie:
Yes you can replace the seal, it comes in a seal kit for the PAS box and is part No STC2847R (according to Paddocks) and comes in at £14.46 + VAT.

As Mike said, MM4x4 are doing a recon 4-bolt box for £80.

winchman:
Thats cheap I have just been offered a used one for £50 by a bloke round the corner, says it was fitted new to a vehicle then vehicle was scrapped

drmike:
Does it still have the drop arm fitted as getting that on and off is a pig. Changing the box is not a nice job working alone in any case because it's so heavy and awkward to get at the bolts etc. but it's a bonus if you don't have to change the drop arm.
