Aye but you'd get a brand new Defender 90 CSW for that money. I know what I'd go for................or am I getting old!!!

Evilgoat:
Cossi is getting a bit long in the tooth now though. Most of the ones that are sane money have been ragged or arent cossies. And they are at least 2 generations behind whats being churned out now.

I think just about every manufacturer including ford have better engines and cars than the cossie. Price of making a performance car has dropped to the point that its not really anything special now.

RS2, Lotus Carlton, Opel Senator, Volvo 850 T5 were all a generation ahead of the cossie and just about caught up, so it was ahead of its time :)

Subarus eat pistons aparently if you pic a bad one or one that had a hard life. Nice cars but as an Audi driver I'm duty bound to despise them :)

Surely the Cossie is everyones dream Super saloon. - Or a M5 of course

Being a 'go my own way' type of guy, I'd like something a bit differant :D

Manicminer:
And my 'ancient' 1980 Rover SD1 V8 (modified) would have held it's own against any one of them (it used to eat Cossies, Lotus, etc and leave them for dust). Ah the memories ...

Evilgoat:
I remeber the SD1s, pug ugly big things but as you rightly point out, quick. Same generation as the Cossie too. Sadly I see more of the SD1's redecessors around, the P6 3500TCs and 2000SCs than I do SD1s. I dont recall the last time I saw one.

Dads old 3500TC used to shift, for what was then, a 20 year old car like you say with the SD1, it used to eat things for brekkies.
