ABS diagnostic socket location

Just tried to follow the abs diagnostics proceedure on my N reg 300TDI (has EGR) and cant find the blue diagnostic connector.  I notice theres an OBD connector in the drivers footwell I am wondering if the abs diagnostic socket has been integrated into that, if so, can I short the pink/black and black wire on that to get the codes to flash ?

Its somewhere up round the steering column. To the right of the column a 5 way blue connector.

Nope, been looking for 10 minutes, absolutely nothing even remotely resembling it in the location specified.

I was right, after 1996 the ABS connector was integrated into the Main ECU fault code reader socket in the footwell top panel.

Have read the code and I have too large an air gap on my front right side sensor, strange as I removed it and reseated it earlyer, will have another look and replace it if it happens again.
