i want 2" too and am told that you don't need to extend brake pipes at 2"

so i'm led to beleive fudge but i'll get it to maximum articulation on the front and see how much free play there is once its raised 2"

Nope, don't need to extend brake pipes till you get up to a 3" lift.

I have Rascal rear springs on mine front and back, I have got 6" lift with them as you have to alter the mounts under the drivers feet and if done properly you can get 6" lift and use Astra MK2 Shocks, you have to bend the top mount on the rear ones.
You will need extended brake lines
