yep- driven both and own a lwb sammy (which is fab)

just looked on autotrader for my area- cheapest jimny is £2600 but the model i would buy is still £4500...

there was 2 for under 2000 on autotrader change your options with distance.

SO how do they both compare for drive and comfort etc...

Hi there, I know I have banged on about this before but if you want an off roader go for the Sammy, I have one. If you want an every day car that is capable off road but not as capable as a Sammy get a Vitara. I had one a few years ago. A 100 mile journey in a Sammy would frighten the life out of you, a Vitara though it still not a Vectra / Escort it will still do the journey with some comfort. When you get to your journeys' end you can then go YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAA off road with it and then drive home. Hope this has helped and not confused the issue.

Yep, I think you have summed that up in a nutshell, I have had both and the Vit is great for road journeys but the Sammy was definately more capable off road. Jimny is a great compromise of both but still a bit pricey, cheapest I have seen was £1600 for an S Reg.

my sammy is great to drive (when it goes  :oops: ) a jimny is more modern obviously but you have to take into account getting spares and stuff. Lots of people have sammy bits lying around but not many jimny bits!

Plus if u scratch/dent an older car it isnt quite the end of the world

jimny been out since 1998 spares shouldn't be a prob. So the only issues is panels, which isn't reallyaprob as alot comewith half plastic.

well the black sammi on ebay went up to £845 and was then withdrawn from sale, so i suspect he got offered a grand for it and took the cash.
