Overheating saga the final chapter??????

(1/2) > >>

Well this has got to be the sting in the tale the twist in a long and costly exercise to find an overheating problem.....a lesson for everyone so something to check before you go too far

Started with a head gasket, a new radiator, then a new water pump, a borrowed viscous unit...........and finally listening to all the advice and a considerable amount from the local Land Rover specialist the cylinder head was done

IT STILL OVERHEATS :?  :?  :?

So think again what could it be.....a lady at the garage whilst we were running it commented about the hot air blowing on her legs.....thats unusual she said.

The blades on the fan were blowing out over rather than sucking in so the faster I went the hotter it got air figting air. Obviously the last owner replaced a faulty unit with a secondhand one but did not check the part number on the blades. They are the wrong ones and face the wrong way(probably off a V8). Even the guy at LR parts couln't believe it.

So ordered new blades and we fit them before we set off for Billing on Friday so fingers crossed that this is the end of the saga and a esson learnt   At least I have lots of nice new parts

Its not unheard of, I bought my RRC v8 of ebay for peanuts because the previous owner though it needed serious money spending on the EFI to get it too run. 8 new spark plugs later
