Thanks guys - I will drop it into the garage tomorrow for them to have a quick look.

If it is the pump - idea of price?  It will be a Land Rover Garage (not dealer) as I'm about as mechanically minded as a bowl of salad.

Cheers

priced a new pump for mine & it will be about 130 ish +vat for the complete pump

imspanners:
It could just be the revs are getting too low and the oil pump isn't pumping sufficiently at such low revs. My Disco did the same with air-con on, I just adjusted the revs up a little to compensate. No problems since.

burgerman:
if the housing on the pump is not damaged/worn/scorred, you can buy and relplace just the gears  ( much cheaper)    good luck

discoman:
just rebuilt a 90 with same problam oil light fliked on and off  so we went green laning until the big end end up in the sump thats why it needed a rebuild get it checked out

Horness:
UPDATE

Mine turned out to be the Oil Pressure Switch.  Ã‚£6.50.  :D
