truck cab, van or staion wagon ???

(1/3) > >>

bullfrog:
I have a 90 truck cab.
Should I change it back to county station wagon as I have all the parts to ?
I may leave rear seats out as it will be used mainly offroad.
I could make it a van as well as have side panels.
I figure I could get 1 more notch on seat with no truck cab and also have dry storage. It would also be more practiclefo my family needs in case we needed to use it daily.
I have thought about making a king cab  using the roof and side panels ?
would look alright I reckon !

I would be willing to sell or swap/deal all the county bits with someone with a van type + some cash or other bits.
I am after a winch, waffles or WHY

I have the full roof lining, all 7 seats in good condition. seat belts and trim
It is clean and tidy and a biege tweed sort of design
The roof is white and has tinted alpine lights.
The side windows slide.

Guessing its as a purely plaything.........

truck cab - everything else (strops etc) has to stay out in the wet & easily appropriated by others unless a locker is invested in, good all round visiblity

Station wagon, Less visibilty ro rear & side, but gear stays dry & secure

Van, no extra windows to worry about when leaning on trees etc but poor visibilty.

I personally would be tempted to try to make some kind of king cab, even if its only an extra few inches for storing jackets & sarnies etc

bullfrog:
That was my thought.
Not huge as cuts down onn vision but just enough to store offroad gear or bit of shopping if main car is out of action.
Would also be handy if I needed to take tools anywhere .
Would also retain basic shape if trialing .
I have seen a couple and they look good .
Might lay some designs out tomorrow.
I also thought about tomcat/bowler type rear as have access to some ally sheets ! 8)

Jim-Willy:
I would go for the Van, i station wagoned my van but i wonder why half the time.

bullfrog:
The side panels I have a SW ones with ally sheets covering the whole side.
I also have the windows should I choose to refit them.
I am leaning towards the king-cab idea as it apears to be the best of both worlds.
It will also stand out a bit which hopefully will help business. :)
If I SW it I would have to get the mantec window guards too and they cost a bit !  :(
