ian_s:
what exactly are you doing for the engine mount?

i need to do the same for fitting my 200tdi, and i'm at a bit of a loss what to do.

can you take some photos of that engine mount if you've done it already?

Cheers
Ian

--- Quote from: "rustprooflandyracer" ---Looks good, is it just bolted straight to a standard series box?

yeah it bolts striaght on to the series boxwith out any problems aprt from lining up the clutch plate and the shalf on the gearbox.

ian_s, i ve been a bit busy at the moment so i havent had time to make the mount but as soon as i get it made ill take some pics for you

ian_s:
i've had a good look at it now i have the engine in, and i've decided on what i need to do

i'm gonna use the mount that was bolted to the 2.25 on the drivers side.
turn it upsidown, and its exactly the right size to just weld onto the chassis rail. does this sound like a good idea?

muddy_90:
i was going to do that myself, i weld it on to a bit of plate first to spread the weight for when it came to welding it on the chassis but ive never got round to doing it and i thought that it might not get thought it mot with it mounted like that

ian_s:
i cant see that being any weaker than anything else i could construct.

the other thought i had was to us the remnants of the old mount the i cut off. its got to be strong enough as it held the old engine fine.
