what to do
gtomo2:
Thanks for that richard never thought of that so it may be time for another rethink and go for a full set of police spec springs. dont want to go too heavy duty as it will get a bit to uncomfortable on a bumpy road
bullfrog:
I had police spec rears all round on mine prior to fitting the 33"s.
I used monroe4x4 gas adventurer shocks and it handled and sat very well.
I had 235/70/16 BFGs on and they had loads of room.
It was a bit stiff but at the time it was purely used on road.
Garth:
I fitted police spec rear springs to my motor a few months ago after taking SLU off. Approx 1.5" higher than before and drops very little when towing and also feels a lot more stable (but original springs were NG).
gtomo2:
never thought of taking the slu off what sort of weight do you tow as i pull a 1.5 ton caravan. but never thought of taking slu off as i thought it would drop the back end too much
Range Rover Blues:
Yes, I fitted them to RRR, Janer tows the 'van with that. It's a bit rolly polly and nearly as high as Blue and he's got a 2" lift. Now with the 'van on the back sits down nicely but the steering suffers from the typical lift syndrome with or without the 'van.
I was recomended these by the supplier for towing but I'm dissapionted. To get the car to handle I've now got to chuck time and money at it or lower it and it is quite capable off-road even on road tyres so Jane wants to keep it as-is.
All I can say is I don't know how the police managed to drive them so bl**dy fast!
