Good Luck with lighter life, my wife has been on it twice, the first time really worked for then we moved, couldn't find a new group locally and she fell off the wagon.

You will need to see it all the way through though as the beginning eating phase is quite important in re-educating your brain and body as to what you can eat.

The second time she did it, I joined her for the first two weeks, so I can fully understand what you are going through, and although it was a quick way to drop a stone, it came straight back once I started eating.  The group wasn't realy for her though and then she had some medical tests and was told by the Doctor to come off it.

Personally I prefer to train and moderate what I eat and will be giving Body for Life a go once I'm back off my holidays in the middle of August, can't see any point in starting before as that's planning to fail!

My BMI is 31.1.

That makes me obese according to the charts :roll:

I have  mostly been muscle up to a couple of years ago when I started sitting on my arse driving machinery. I have lost some muscle tone and put on about half a stone in that time.

I should be slightly overweight. Even my doctor says the charts don't cover anyone who has more muscle than the average rake.

according to the BMI scale, every player in the USA's NFL football league was rated as over-weight last year, with almost all of them classes as obese....

i know some of them are a bit lumpy, but i think theres a hole in the system somewhere...

you get four packs a day (2 soups and 2 shakes)

you mix them with bout 400ml of water in a blender or in a bowl with a whisk, then drink it

you can add pepper or tabasco sauce to the soup to taste

i add ice in the blender for the shakes to make it into a smoothie


also you can have one chewie bar a day, i have these mid-afternoon

honestly you do not feel hungry but you need to keep drinking 4ltrs of water a day, this helps your fat breakdown and keeps you from feeling hungry

its top!

after you hit your target you get weaned back onto normal food gradually over a 12 week period, starting from a single fillet of meat per day onto things like bread in the 7th week

its so that your body can work it back into your system and you dont get larda$$ again :)

you can also have shakes too

what you have in your daily intake is up to you (i might go full on shakes in this warm weather and the raspberry tastes a lot nicer than thai chili ;)

I'm 6'1'', I only eat a cooked breakfast every day, lunch in the canteen, good cooked dinner, & then about 8 to 10 cans of Fosters, & still can't get below 7 1/2 stone! :(

Try eating a bit more, and I bet the weight would drop off. I know it sounds daft, but it works.

The problem with lighterlife is that it doesn't retrain the bad habits (going to the choccy machine).  Unless you can learn to be "good", you'll put the weight back on when you finish it.

On the other hand, if you can deal with 3 months of purgatory every few years to lose it again...

I agree with the other comments though, that's very quick to try and lose weight, and a healty diet will do more in the long run.  SWMBO has being doing Weightwatchers for a couple of years now (lost a lot very quickly and is struggling on the last few lbs) and we've totally changed the way we cook and what we eat - for the better.

yeh, my clothes hang off me, ive lost my 2nd chin, and ive loads more energy, plus im happy now, not moody..

i keep watching uktvfood for ideas on my future cos before ready meals were so easy but they are packed with cr&p so im going to avoid them in the future like the plague

i miss chewing.. which to you guys may sound weird but think about it, ive not chewed ANYTHING for 5 weeks, i do have chew bars but they are as soft as a milky way so your gnashers arent worked at all

but once i put one in the freezer and ate it and i had jaw ache for bout 30mins!

hope to hit 13st by october.

plus my camel trophy combats fit properly again!
