Hamsterley
(1/1)
tonycougar:
Decided the Drover needed a chassis wash, so took it up to Stanhope/Frosterley fords today....The long way round, or maybe its a short cut (distance wise) I went via Hamsterley forest. Took the greenlane that leads north out of the forest, up over the top then down into weardale. Very nice drive out and after all that got a good splash in 2 fords.

Unfortunately forgot my camera. :(
Will remember next time
Bush Tucker Man:
No-one being rescued by Helicopter from Stanhope this time then??
I haven't been up there for about 6years, as I sold this in 2001
I take it the plans to gate the ford off/install warning lights never came off
Digressing, one of our departments Sisters is originally from St Johns Chapel to the west of Stanhope
Small world?

we did the treasure hunt on the sunday. There was a modified 90 that had been pulled over by the police in Stanhope.
The story we heard was that he had been pulled as police had seen the driver bombing along with a can of fosters in his hand.
Makes you wonder what kind of b100dy idiots there are out there.
He deserves eveything he gets IMO
Also there seemed to be a "police pressence" at the ford - either locals had complained or they where looking for anyone being stupid and turning left/right along the river
