Braking
Jimbo:
What pads are you using ?
EBC do some uprated ones, their 'Green stuff' pads might be a little harsh for general use, but I believe they also do 'Black stuff' pads which are still supposedly a vast improvement over OEM pads.
Word of warning - a guy at work kept trashing the standard pads on his 1.8T Audi (he drives like a loon), so he fitted EBC Greens..........now he keeps eating the discs !

Greens are standard replacements, better on most vehicles but there are exceptions.
Blacks and Yellows are competition and race pads, definatly not for landys, in fact i doubt they make them for landys!
hobbit:
Do these have a load sensor valve on them at all?
muddyweb:
Are you getting low brake efficiency, or are you suffering from 'fade' (the brakes get worse as you use them)
If it is poor efficiency, then a new set of standard pads might be worth trying. If the pads that are on there haven't been bedded in properly then they might not be working as well as they should.
There are uprated pads around, and these will also likely improve things.
As a help in reducing fade, there are a few cross-drilled and / or vented discs around which might improve things.
Beware though !! If you are spending a lot of money on braking components, be careful where you drive. It's perfectly possible to destroy a set of pads / discs in a day on a gritty off-road site.
FWIW, my 90 runs on standard pads and discs and will stop in quite a hurry, even when towing BIG loads.
Ollie:
No, no braking fade, and as I have previously noted, the brakes are good all things considered.
I'm after upgrading them to make them even better than they are.
If you have children and carry them around in your 110/90 etc, then you'll understand my reasoning :?
Has anyone fitted the Terrafirma discs and pads from FrogsIsland?
