Worn door hinges

(1/3) > >>

Ollie:
The drivers bottom door hinge pin is worn, and causing the door to drop and catch the inner edge :!:
Can you drift the old pin out and replace with a new one, or do you have to purchase a new hinge :?:
Maybe a stupid question, but are genuine LR hinges colour matched :(stoopid):

Ollie

vtrdaz:
had mine replaced under warranty for that same problem - no they don't come colour matched put you can buy the paint from LR which is suprisingly cheap (colour and laquer if you have a metalic.
I'd advise you use etch primer before you put the colour on though and paint the back of the hinge as well to try and stop the dreaded bubbling

Litch:
New hinges are really cheap (about £5.95 for a pattern part) but yes you will have to paint it first. When fitting leave the door closed as that way it will hold its position and save time re-aligning it.

Ollie:
I've ordered the parts from LR at £11 each :D be in on Wednesday :!:
Now, I've never used etch primer before, do I go for the acid version or 'normal', and do I require additional primer over the top of the etch primer :(thinkhard):

Cheers
Ollie

vtrdaz:
i've used acid primer in the past - acid 8 i think they call it - think i got it from halfrauds
