Blue Badge Abuse
waveydavey:
Here's a question:
Why are Mother & Child bays near the door?
Disabled yes as restricted movement but a kid doesn't hamper the ability to walk.
Put them on the other side of the car park and they won't get abused.

Here Here WaveyDavey, I have to agree. Just because I chose not to have kids I have to park the other side of the moon and walk to the store.
Ducks for cover
hobbit:
My problem is not so much disabled bays but the width of bays, my father is wheel chair bound , and to get me out of one side and him with a wheelchair down the other side for him means in a normal bay dont work with most bays, even some disabled bays are only normal width and it gets to the point to park further away sometimes cause of the width, normally if I do that I get a car parked next to it when I get back
Rangie3.0LtrDan:
The situation about empty disabled bays must go by area, in my area they are never empty.
Also the bit about moving parent and toddler parking (as this is actually what it is, not parent and child parking) i would say being close to the door is a must. I dont have kids of my own but helping a friend of mine with her 2 toddlers and going shopping was a nightmare, i wouldnt move it far away at all!
blackbob:
my wifes disabled and we went to asda in the evening and all the blue badge bays were full of staff cars so no spaces were avalible in easy walking distance we complained to the manager and they put an announce ment over the tannoy could customers and staff please move there cars
and they appoligised to the staff about them having to move there cars and snubbed us for complaining :(
on the pluss side we can park for free on the sea front :D
