--- Quote from: "thermidorthelobster" ---My Disco failed earlier... on the two parking permit stickers in the windscreen. The tester told me to take them off when I got it home! Other than that it passed, including the emissions, surprisingly.

Well he shouldn't have!!
Parking permits are acceptable UNLESS they are seriously impairing the drivers view!

I was refused a test on the zook, examiner said he didnt know where to start as it wasnt standard, so refused test.
Contacted the ministry, found out he could only refuse on excessive dirt etc, or on grounds of it putting him in danger. They offered me the chance to report the centre.(didnt seem neccesary tho)
Had it MOT'd elsewhere (suggested by the Ministry), had a fail for a few genuine items, sorted them, and got a pass.
The tester even said' Ill just take it out for a quick test drive' (not sure if every mot warrants a quick spin round the block)
The worse bit about the mot is that its all at;
'THE EXAMINERS DISCRETION'
I think some live in the real world, and the others......no idea!

If your suzi is permanent 4wd he has to test the brakes that way, mind you he may just like driving them now and again :wink:
On the mot reports the only thing mostly that is actually written by the tester nowadays is a piece in the sentence in brackets
But yes its a pain for them too, and time consuming
Evilgoat:
Audi was failed by a Jag dealer in Brighton on CV boot, fair enough, 16 year old car. Failed the following year on th same CV boot and cost me around £100 on top to put right because the garage bodged it :S
