EDC cough cough
« on: June 23, 2006, 16:21:32 »
Someone I know has had their 300tdi ES Disco from new in 1996. Over the years it's had an intermittent fault which sometimes happens every week other times not for a few months. Basically at lowish revs, 30 mph or so it coughs and splutters and the 'check engine' warning light comes on, after a few seconds it recovers and returns to normal. Over the years several LR specialist have looked at it and cannot find the fault, but he's had the throttle sensor replaced as a 'guess'. Other guesses have been wiring loom fault / loose connection.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular fault?
Could it be the EDC itself? If so are they interchangeable ? Can you take one off one vehicle and swap them over without re-programming etc?

Any usefull comments would be appreciated.
