Oh Tim, now there you go again..... have you no faith in the wonderful authorities in the UK????

NiceBlueWellies:
I like to "help them out" too.

Unless it is some chav type of course

bezzabsa:
OK so we can all be a little 'anti police' at times, but just remember that if your kid got knocked down by a speeder would you still wave at people to warn them of a speed camera???

I do tens of thousands of miles a year as my job, and I see all sorts of pratts, I hate gatsos, and think the mobile vans are pointless, but when a copper is stood there with a gun there is usually a good reason.gatsos just make people slow down till the white lines are in the mirror then they speed up again, same with the vans, but copper with 'hair drier' usually means there are a few more about, ready to catch the 'hahaha i can speed up again' brigade which in my book is how it should be!

and the penalty for alerting people to a speed trap is something like £1000 and is indeed 'hindering a police officer in the course of his duties'
(few friends in blue)

I hardly ever see a copper with a speed gun anywhere sensible. You don't often see them outside of a school, cinema, near a playground or anywhere where you would normally expect a child to suddenly appear in the road... oh no.. they lurk on roads away from population areas for the most... like the A508 mk to northampton road... waiting to dig their nails into the flesh that is our wallets once again... and then they preach on about how " if a child ran out... "... its all B.S... our police force is for the most part ineffective and full of power hungry megalomaniacs with delusions of grandure... stick them in a uniform and the swine all think the're god... with one or two exceptions... and you dont dare to try and reason with them...
OOPS... I must have had a bad day.. sorry

discograham:
Hang on... I haven't finished yet...
What about the response time... they take ages to respond unless they think theres a chance of some aggro... the rest of the time the're sitting in tesco canteens.. or sainsbury's.. or whoever you like... for hours sometimes.. I know .. Ive seen it hundreds of times... the same whereever you go... the police in this country are miles better than most places.. but still nowhere near good enough... they work for us remember... and we pay their wages..
Right... I think I'm done for now...
