Anybody else sick of the World cup pash already, and more so the fact ENGERLUND are doing the usually we'll win yadda ****ing yah type *hite. Lets look at what we've got...

1. MARS BARS
Yes the humble Mars bar... but now with added "Believe" type *hit. Believe what? Fat burds need loving too? Kebabs cure hangovers? Tell me... It's on a Ikin HUGE billboard near me, can see it coming down next time I'm pashed.

2. McDONALDS
The purveyors of processed *hit are in there, now with an "even bigger" McFatbstard Whopper thing... for, and I quote "the biggest five weeks of you're life" Oh really? Does somebody know something I don't...

3. WHATEVER... WORLD CUP SPECIALS
There's already been Question of Sport World Cup Special, TOTP World Cup Special, News Report World Cup Special, various World Cup Special dramas, soaps and sodding adverts. JUST F**K OFF!!!!

4. TOP GEAR
Ok, so because some cheesemongers are running about in Germany and their associate fans are busy trying to level the place, those of us who really cannie be rsed and look forward to an hour a week of car related stuff... miss out. Why, one sodding hour a week... so no Top Gear for the next 5. Get rid of *king Gardeners World...

5. ROONEY
He broke his toe... his bloody toe. So what? They flew the lardass to Germany, flew him back two days later (at HUGE cost) dicked about in Mercs and hospitals before the PR "went to baw the missus" [bollards] and then back to the hospitol (ooooh, on the edge of my seat) and then sent him back to Germany.... talk about a media boosted hype campaign.

6. IN YOUR FACE
Yes ok, bit national pride and all that...and if we could get to where they are then I'm sure we'd be chuffed. But would 99% of Scots have flags on everything from cars to their bloody suitcases? No, we're not that gobby...

Bloody hell... its ENGLAND thats in the World Cup so why the bloody hell can't I so much as watch telly, drive into town or go to work without having it forced in my face all the time. It's beyond a joke... and when they get fired out sooner than planned we'll get the torrent of blame, whinging and pash that will follow.

Absolutely right Dave..   the forum isn't exactly swamped with football, so a few threads can easily be ignored by people who aren't interested.   If we keep football off, we'd also have to keep off rugby, formula 1, BTCC, cricket, athletics, etc. etc. etc.

As for 'well done England though....  hmmm...     2 wins from mediocre games...  OK, a win is a win, but they need to up the game a bit if they are going to be able to apply any pressure in the next round.

Jake:
I think its great!
Listen, i hate football as much as the next man but this world cup seems different from the last.
The amount of support has grown so much!
Billboards, chocolate bars, car flags and all the other promotional stuff is so much more noticeable than every before.
I love all the flags that are about, not just the St George cross's but all the different country flags that i see adorning the cars, pubs and houses.
The world is gripped by a competion i dont really understand the rules of or care too much about but its hard not to get caught up in the wave of optimism and hope that surrounds us.
Did we all love athletics prior to Linford Christie and Daily Thompson bringing home gold?
Did we all like rugby before England won?
In the Olympics, the Ladies Curling team?
Did anyone else start watching cricket when the Ashes were on?
This is a national team which a lot of the country has got behind.
We dont win all the time so whats wrong with a bit of proud support?
Good luck England and bring home the gold!
 :D
