winch web

paul and sam:
evening all i wonder if anyone can help i have bought a winch web for the front of my disco and now have to fit it to the drum. on the old cable i has a clip just like a battrey fixing ,but on the web there is no fitting and wonderd if i would be able to melt a hole through the center . as the fixing takes no force as such i wonderd if this would be alright the web is just over one inch wide and i dont think i would be able to fit it in to a battrey fixing. any iders, many thanks

I melted a hole in it using a solering iron and used the fixing screw into the side of the drum
