Greasing UJ's

(1/2) > >>

feenix:
Just finished the complete oil change, engine, t-box, g-box & diffs, so I started greasing my nipples.  On the props that is.  Anyhow, was pumping grease in there for a while, heard a crackle and the old grease started being pushed out.  The question is, is the grease supposed to be pushed out of all the joints?  It seemed to only emerge from 1 or 2 of the joints., no matter how much I put in there.

Also, the wading plug on the bellhousing is well and truly stuck, tried with sockets, spanners, WD40, heat gun, cold chisel and I think the only thing left is drilling it out, unless you have any more ideas  :?

If grease is coming out then that's normal, depends how good the seals are as to how many the grease comes out of.

hobbit:
Clean grease through all four seals is ideal, but not very often, you can try rotating the prop sometimes it will let it seep through the others as well

Worth checking the movement on the things as well for wear

feenix:
thanks, was worried that the UJ's might be knackered.  I'll carry on as usual then.  :)
