Water leak!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!! Thanks for your help
blackbob:
have you got roof bars if so check the seals
Blu:
There are millions (exaggeration) of areas where water can ingress,I spent years working on 38A's sealing holes where potential leaks could occur, and you'd be amazed at how small a hole can allow water through.
You need to be very methodical and meticulous on your approach to finding this leak,as mentioned by barmie brummie get someone to lie in the footwell with torch or get someone with an hosepipe to drench one area at a time to find if the water is seeping through chosen area(s),whilst you lie in the footwell!
Check the door shedders for any splits (this is one of those forgotten areas)
Check around door panel as water CAN ingress from window through the door panel and leak out from the base of the door into footwell.
Check crackseal has not missed panel seams!
Check grommets are seated!
Check under roof scuttles for holes in crack seal!
As mentioned above I spent years finding microscopic holes in the crack seal, and believe me the size of the holes can be smaller than a pin pr*i*ck.
Disco Bristol:
thanks all, i will have a look at some of the things you all mentioned, i will let you know how it goes
hobbit:
I dont know about the nearside but, on the offside of mine, while I have the wing off, i was still getting water in the flaming thing (already repaired all the floor previously), found out that it was coming in though the grommet hole where the aerial lead from the wing ran through the bulkhead The drain hole for the top grill area empties out just above it, also there is another grommet up in the top area below the wiper area of the bulkhead, that was missing too.
bilge rat:
start at the lowest point with the hose work from bottom to the top. when you find it ,i used something called creeping jack, get it from boat chandlry, brill stuff
