karlo:
I am new to off road driving apart from the odd field, I don't see a section where people can post advice for new members,

 What sort of tyres are best for what terrain,
 How to prepare a motor for greenlaning,
 What equipment is advisable to take,

or have i missed it somewhere?

A 2nd vehicle for if/when you get stuck.

Mobile Phone,
Maps,
Contact List,
Some ropes for recovery by 2nd vehicle if you do get stuck (which you shouldn't on a greenlane, ideally),
Food & Water,
Probably a set of All Terrain Tyres are advisable rather than road tyres.

Depending on the vehicle can also effect what lanes you can drive.  Some lanes have fairly steep steps that could damage the underside of a vehicle with low ground clearance.  However, most Land Rovers have enough clearance.

Dave:
Hello Karlo to prepare make sure you have good recovery points front and rear and nothing low down that can easily get broken off.
What to take. Take some one with you two cars are a must if you get stuck the other can pull you out. If you brake down you have a car to get help or parts or to the road for help  .
As for tyres and toys wait to see how far you are going to go dont rush in and waste money. You will be surprised how far your truck will go on road tyres.
Most of all enjoy the drive take you time and be nice to all an the lanes.

Ps are you gtomo mate :?:
