MPG??

<< < (3/4) > >>

blackbeltbob:
get 23 mpg while running around town but managed to get 28 mpg going to Wales at a steady 65 mph

on a different note was getting 29 mpg with my disco (td5), chipped the engine and now get 23 mpg because it drives like a demon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

blackbeltbob:
sorry, forgot to say that the defender is a 300tdi

Bush Tucker Man:
Just topped mine up about an hour ago, lets do the maths

Trip states; 164.1miles
Took to brim; 23.41litres

Divide 32.41 by 4.545 to get the amount in English (5.1507 gallons)

Divide 164.1 by 5.1507
Equals; 31.85MPG

It's not bad for a bog-stock Td5 doing traffic-bound school runs, short jaunts, perhaps 20miles of motorways is it?

tiltboy:
Well, my 90 is a late 200tdi, 146,000 miles (some of those were even on tarmac!), soft top, running on bfg muds all the while, with a disco t box (doesn't pull 5th very well and tend to use low around town   ).

I get a fairly constant 30-32 mpg. Even towing (only a Sankey but hey) on short trips and laning/off road. But, I rarely paste the living daylights out of it! That's the key.

MK-90:
2.5na

worst: 18mpg (loads of short cold journeys)
Best: 33mpg (Big long motorway journey)
Average: 23-27mpg
