sj 413 lift

(1/2) > >>

mikey:
sure this question has been asked before, but i`m after tips on raising my totally standard sj 413. been looking at the pro comp 2" kit with new leaf springs and shocks, as the springs on mine are shot! but is fitting new springs and shocks as easy as they say it is. i`ve also heard about trouble with the length of prop shafts when you lift the truck? how high should i go?

???????????????????????????????????????????????????

V8MoneyPit:
You won't need to do anything with your propshafts at 2". Not sure about the brake hoses though. Mine is going to 3", and I am putting longer hoses on to be safe.

mikey:
have you had to adjust you propshafts at 3", only i`ve heard of them popping out, but i`m not sure under what circumstances!
what size tyres are you planning to put on once its raised?

nielsascha123:
From what I've heard, a set of Old Man Emu springs gives a marked improvement in ride quality. (esp if matched to the correctly valved shocks.) I'm about to fit a 1.5" lift set to my sammy (spring under). I'm already running OME nitrocharger shocks.
OME is quite expensive, but are worth the extra expense (apparently).
Let us know what you decide on.

Not done yet! I have been told (by the supplier who could have supplied shaft spacers too) that I don't need them at 3". I get the impression you only need them for huge lifts. Certainly the 5" Calmini kit is supplied with them.

Tyres are 235/75x15 Greenway Machos. There's another thread running about these  :D
