How hard can it be.......

Range Rover Blues:
I'm sure mine was 33 mm, went to HAlfrauds for it.

How you getting on with the MOT?  if the drop arms is coming of for the balljoint, don't bother.  Just remember Dremel grinds

clbarclay:
Draper do a very useful 3/4" socket set, that was priced around £55 that included a good selection of sizes (both metric and imperial) with extensions, a tee bar and ratchet. In all a very useful set thats worth its weight in gold when you come across a big nut.

Exactly the same set is also sold by sealey, machine mart, etc. for about the same price.

Also the drop arm may be tight on the splines so if you have acess to a heat source (oxy-acetaline torch etc.) then it can make removal a whole lot eaiser, but will probably ruin the seal on the bottom of the steering box.

Rangie3.0LtrDan:
I do have a heat source now (blowtorch thingy) so i might now need a seal? is the seal easy to do or should i just scrap the car now?

Range Rover Blues, this is the last bit for the mot, everything else has been done!  We are getting there slowly!

beast5680:
i used a 10 tonne hydraulic puller to get mine off when i did it and it does go with a bang if your not careful   i just needed a small amount of heat from a blowtorch to just warm the drop arm where it connects to the steering box

Rangie3.0LtrDan:
Am thinking of taking the BFH approach and see what happens.
