New Tyres or Retreads??
SMason0877:
Hia Folks
Havin read all the tyre discussions i think im going to go for AT tyres on my zook. Just want a general opinion on which is better.
So..New or Retreads...you decide
Axle:
The origanals are usually a small bit better than the Retreads but they are also alot dearer.
bf goodrich at are the best hands down
but the colway at are great value money and when youre off road there is not that big of a difference .
They are also reasnoble on road .The Thread doesn,t seem to last as long
Alot of people on this site use the colways and they swear by them .
Cheers
Rob

The difference in performance betwwen the new and re-treads(dis-regarding the treadwear issue) is not really noticable. Certainly not off the tarmac anyway. The big difference is in the price. I know which tyre I'd prefere to put a big rock through the side wall of and it's not any of the big name brands. I run the Colway AT's and they are very good in just about all conditions. If you want an impartial evaluation on how good thay are, ask Tony (welshas). Caught him wandering round my motor with a wheel brace and a glint in his eye the last time we went playing out!!
Tony W:
dam locking wheel nut allway in the way
But as Karl says they definitley performed well last time out good off road
and good road manners as well extreamly good at 3 point turns (sorry ED) :D
Come the time to replace i will be getting these
Un less the BFG Fairy treets me thiout rapeing my wallet
Wanderer:
Just call me turn around Ted so as not to mix me up with Turn around Turtle.
Tyres are an "emotive" subject. I'll stick with these Technics Amazons. As Karl says. £38 and you don't have to worry about ripping them to shreds while off road.
I spoke to a trye dealer recently who says Technics were bought out by another comany. Dunno if that'll make it harder or easier to get hold of them.
