Wheel spats

Cassillis:
Can anyone tell me the best way to rejuvenate my Black rubber/plastic Defender 90 wheel spats? Over the years they have become grey and look rather untidy. Can I paint them, or is there a product that I can use to return them to their original condition? I have just done the rear crossmember which now looks great but the spats being grey instead of the black let the motor down.
Thanks

wing nut:
with some plastics that have gone grey ,you can warm them up with a heat gun or hair dryer bringing them back to colour .alternatively get some back to black gel or boot polish it might work

Xtremeteam:
spray some wd40 on them    brings them up nice n black

Litch:
Avoid the temptation to paint them as a DIY job is likely to flake quite quickly and you will end up with them looking worse than before. Even the factory applied paint starts to crack in places after only a few years.

TechnoTurkey:
I'd take them off, clean them and then douse with WD40, works a treat.
