Replace Thermostat Housing on Discovery TD5

Hi
I need to replace my thermostat housing on my Discovery,it looks like i may have to remove the cooling fan  to get access, can anybody tell me how to remove the fan

fatusbloke:
36 mm spanner i think and a big copper hammer, put spanner on fan nut and hit single large blow and fan should crack off and spin off freely, If not repeat useing more brute force
 I beleave TD5's are a conventional thread, early one's used to be left hand thread.
