Ebay is always worth a look in, i got some reasonable condition BFG mud terrains on rr alloys for very sensible money fom there.
I off roaded on retread copys of the BFG AT (about £40 ish from ATS) for a while, there not a match for the mud I useually off road on but still good enough to put a smile on my face. They run well on the road though and work on most terrains.
If after getting some on wheels as a second pair for off roading so your not running them on the road too much then you can consider some of the more aggressive retreads like:
Greenways from http://www.sowdentyres.co.uk/greenway-tyres.html
Grizzly claws, Diamond back, technic amazon etc from http://www.bronco4x4.com/
The list of these cheaper tyres goes on, however bewaere the some of them may not be legal for use on the public highway (including green lanes).
Garth:
I use Colway AT's from Direct Tyres
Cheap but only last about 15,000
OK on and off road (depending how much offroad you are going)

Do bear in mind that many remoulds will not be speed rated enough for range rover V8 !!!!!
Branded A/Ts are not that dear and are covered by your insurance which NON approved remoulds are not !
You could get a set of cheapy M/Ts on steelys to use offroad only and a set of road tyres for road use ??
Why wear out offroad tyres during the week !
I have Marshall Powerguard A/Ts on mine.
They are 33" so have a fairly open tread and are not noisy.
They are available in most sizes and offer a good allround package for sensible money

Where from Bullfrog ?
