--- Quote from: "davidlandy" ---Just noticed from that whatcar website that my diesel passat has the same quoted top speed as the RRSC...130mph

hmm
my 4k galant goes faster than that ;)
Mace:
--- Quote from: "muddyweb" ---What I think is quite sad is that this seems to have turned into a 'my dad is bigger than yours' discussion.
--- End quote ---
Oh, and there's me thinking it was a 'my badge is better than your badge' discussion
Hands up those who are actually taking this thread seriously. All these facts and figures just don't mean a thing, tiz all nonsense as 5th Gear once proved by racing a RR Sport against a horse. Lets move the thread to Jokes & Funnies, well I think it's funny !  It reminds me of the last <impossible> mud-club challenge...the bog hill challenge, this time it's the squeely wheel challange. It'll never happen. *sigh*
Evilgoat:
Lot of cars its limited at 120/130. mThere is an unoffical 'gentlemans agreement' that that should be the max speed of normal cars produced by most manufacturers.
Its normally trivial to defeat. On non Monotronic a4/b4 chassis Audis, its actually a switch on the back of the dash! Probobly applies to VW and SEAT cars of that age too.
dew1911:
The "Gentlemens Agreement" you talk of is usually 155 with the Exec motors, but can be over-riden via the ECU.
And Evilgoat, if you ever fancy selling the Audi lety me know :D it sounds fantastic.
Evilgoat:
VAGcom will do it for you on most VAG cars :)
I've always found it set to 120 though, almost all Audis are restricted at that point IIRC, will have to have a word with the lot that look after mine.
As for the car. There are two Similarly built non-existant V8 90Tqs about. 4.2Lt engine as used in the newer S-Line cars. one roadworthy the other keeps breaking bits as the drivetrain wasnt uprated. I think the owner finally gave up after warping the rear diff moounts etc.
