TDi Vacuum Pump

My vac pump has been leaking oil like a gud'un for ages. Managed to get a new one now so ready to fit it as soon as I get a bit of time.

Question is . . . . does the engine have to be in any particular postion during the removal/refitting procedure and is there anything else I should watch out for ?
