Isuzu to Series

Old Warthog:
Can you fit a 2.8TD from an 89 Trooper into a Series?  It seems to be quite common for Rangies, but never heard it mentioned for Series.

(I may be getting a Trooper for nowt shortly.  Body is shot but engine and gearbox are OK)

Cheers

Keith

Jim-Willy:
Never heard of one, i met a guy in Sweden with a 2.8 Diahatsu in a 2a tho and He liked that.  I would have thought putting that much power through a series tranny would be asking for trouble and also stopping the old lass could be interesting.

Miniman:
YES you can but its a conversion plate job. That will set you back about £400 to start with. Its a big job and not worth the hastle. Why you thinking of this ?

Agreed, saw one which I helped get moved earlier this year, was a cut out and a tight fit to boot to get it in by the looks of it

Old Warthog:
I'm not really contemplating putting it into Winnie, it was more curiosity than anything.  As Jim-Willie says, it would be pretty interesting stopping her, plus would ruin a totally original truck.

By the by, my Daihatsu, which the insurance company wrote off, has now been MOT'd and is road legal.  I had the chassis professionally checked and all the other damage was pretty much cosmetic.  I've replaced the bull bar and knocked out the dents and replaced one wing with one from the scrappies.  It now looks as though the jap crap will be back on the road before the truck I bought to replace it!!

Cheers

Keith
