defenderdan:
Something else i've just noticed, it has extended(military) spring hangars on the back and standard ones on the front.

datalas:
well, from a very quick glance over a cup of tea and a biscuit ...

it would appear to be series 3, or at least, the bulkhead and interior are, as are the wings, doors and door hinges however this in itself means just about nothing.  The 2.6 was fitted to the later 109" series 2's so that might tie in quite nicely.  However, the sills under the doors look a little thick to be series3, and sort of scream series2...

The chassis number and the series2 club would most likely be able to tell you for sure.   Heck, it is 38 years old, who knows what's been done to it.

Other than that.

The chassis appears to have been painted with what I would guess to be red lead and a 2" brush

You really shouldn't keep the spare wheel(s) in the boot

Tetrosyl is not something you're supposed to stick the headliner on with

the back of the roof where they put those lights will leak like a seive

or is that not the sort of constructive answer you were looking for ;)

bezzabsa:
OK, so the transfer lever plate is there...wheres the VIN plate?????
shouldnt it be mounted just above the hand throttle??????
definately a s3-if it is a s2, then someone has done a lot of work to it, bulkhead, handbreak (gearbox??) dash ,wings, heater ,wipers...also i thought the 6 sat further back than the 2.25??

Rich_P:
The handbrake lever is correct, Series 2As and Series 3s had the same handbrake lever.  The rear rover axle isn't anything special either because I don't think it was until around the late 70s that it was introduced?

fire boy si:
i think that it is a t s2 or s2a that has been rebodied with later parts my swb s2a 2.25d has all the common identity marks your 109 has and mine was registered jan 1971 but has nothing in common with my friends 1970 s2a swb 2.25d or his 1967 s2a lwb 2.25 and all our vehicals have what would be known as a s3 front

as too the axel i think steel is right the 67 has a different axel case to yours it may have been upgraded at a later date (oh for the love of big boys mechano)
