Hmmmm could make claiming on the insurance fun... especially if someone saw you on the double yellows...at best could be a 50/50 claim, at worst Nil payment due to negligence.
Sorry to pour water on it, but if a local spotted you on the double yellows all an assessor will say is " double yellows are there for a reason..ie NO PARKING" and bang goes your claim.. be very careful!

Just finished my shift in a 44 tonner(at last)..........usually foreign drivers are complete t***rs they havent a clue on British roads, but to be fair usually car drivers are complete t***rs aswell they just dont give us enough room on the road or realise that we cant see them when they are up our ar*e I once caught my front wheel nut on a car as I was reversing and I ended up ripping the front bumper off the car, stupid women drivers who panic and dont know where reverse gear is,but the WORST are those complete PLEBS who decide they want to do 55mph in lane 1 of the M1 on a friday afternoon and cant understand why that all they cab see in their rear view mirror isSCANIA.......... right ive had my moan so its somebody elses turn

I had to go to Croydon hospital last week and going right around a round about I hung well back for an arctic also turning right as I knew his trailer would cut the corner and the guy behind was hooting his horn at me but all I could do was go next to the lorry as it was red lights so I stil hung back. Other car drivers just dont understand the space a lorry needs and I know how much they need and dont drive them (yet. One day I will(dream))
Any way. Lyndhurst is very narrow for a car and caravan and I take up both lanes when turning left at the lights before the Massarati garage so nobody can get in the way of the back of the caravan so I dont take them out with it swinging round and also so I dont crunch the side of the van on the lights. There are lorry signs all over the motorway telling lorry drivers the proper way around Lyndhurst.
My favourite site is Setthorns. There is another one I want to try but cant remember name of it so havent tried it
