blown hoses

Stripes:
coming down the A1 this afternoon when my temp gauge when up quickly
so i put the blowers on hot but no hot air  :?
so pulled in at garage and no water in header tank  :?  :?
called the aa and found fault on rear hose of a pair just behind the head
where they are tight fit
is this a common place where they are weak?
and has any one got an idea about what part number that would be

Ring Rimmer's they will know.  It's probably just the age as they will be original.
