Help, bolt jammed solid.(sorted with ease).
Edge:
Fitting steering guard there is x1 bolt i cannot free.....already starting to round off edges.
Its the bolt above steering box tie-bar, the rear of the guard bracket is to fit on to it.
Ive tried wd40, wire brush etc to clean thread, but it still wont budge.
ANY TIPS PLEASE GUYS.
denviks:
i had to get the nut splitter out on mine  then when the nut is off you can spray lots of wd40 along the bolt
mmgemini:
WD40 isn't a freeing agent.
Go and get some Plus Gas and soak the bolt in that.
Is it the nut that's getting knackered or the bolt head??
I use six hex sockets most of the time to try to stop this happening.
Try tapping [a good belt really] the bolt head in the direction of the nut.
If it's the nut as suggested a nut splitter will help. Try tapping the nut on the flats with a small hammer and a large hammer on the opposite flat.

Cheers guys :D much appreciated 8) .
Its been suggested by my brother inlaw to heat the nut, apparently he used to have to do this a lot on body fabrication work on trucks. BUT i'm worried about setting the waxoyle on fire   , could end up posting pics of a burnt out wreck.
I'll try the hammers 1st, then will attempt to get hold of a nut splitter :? , dont know what one looks like or where to get one from :? I'll try Halfrauds etc.
