it failed but passed the re-test

my rangie just fail its mot nothing to bad just
1/ steering damper bush u/s
2/steeringbox bolts loose
3/ droparm bolt loose
4/n/s/f & o/s/f steering lock stop bolts need adjusting out (to much lock the tyres are rubbing on the chassic)
5/torsion bar bush worn
6/ o/s/f shock u/s
7/ o/s/f bump stop "missing" (how did i miss that one?)

got a few advisorys as well
fornt suspensoin arms both have a bit of play
swivels both leaking
front prop shaft uj worn
n/s/r chassic has a very small bit of corrosion
engine oil leak ( it a land rover what does he expect)

So all in all not to bad mainly just loose bolts and worn bushes. Oh and the exhaust passed with just the back box on. :lol:

A missing suspension bump stop is not a reason for failure. :?

That should be an advisory. :wink:

It's clearly stated in the testers manual under section 2.4 Suspension - General - ''A missing bump stop rubber is not a reason for rejection.''

If you take the bump stop off the other side they have to pass it, only a failure if one is missing  :?  :shock:

You are correct just read it up and a missing bump stop is not a rejection. Plus the steering stop bolts have never been adjusted and they passed with him last year. Me now thinking i will have to ring up vosa and get them to look at it. but knowing my luck they will inspected it and find a load of faults the other guy missed :x

i know its an arse, but if you do as the rather strict mot tester says, you will have a safer vehicle at the end of it. :?
