my lock barrel has finally gone now, we went down the tip to through bits away and then there i was stuck at the tip with all the windows down and no way of starting the car, after 1 hour of trying we finally managed to turn the key in the barrel
so ive ordered the new barrel are the difficult to fit
also is it alright to cou the old one off with an angle grinder

Erm, I didn't even entertain trying that as the grinder would have made a complete mess of the dash :wink:
The bolts that hold the barrel on were easy to shift with an old chisel and a hammer (simply bash the bolts anti-clockwise with the chisel), no cutting required. After that a really easy job, no more than 30 mins all in.
