MOT Failure Help
Rangie3.0LtrDan:
Well me disco went in for an MOT today and failed on the following:
Offside rear fog lmap not working (bulb only)
Rear reg plate lamp not working (bulb only)
Offside front lamp only working on high beam (slight re-wiring)
Both side bumper end caps need fitting (ready and waiting)
Front reg plate needs fitting (its in me window currently)
Washer jets dont work (pump replacement)
Offside front to drop arm drag link end ball joint has excessive play (see below)
Offside rear body mount has excessive corrosion (about 2" weld needed)
Loading door cannot be secured in the closed position (this is cos currently it cant be opened!)
OK, most of that i can deal with meself, but the one i have no idea about is the Offside front to drop arm drag link end ball joint! Anyone able to tell me about it?
Cheers
Dan
RedDisco:
I guess they must mean the drop arm on the steering box, although it isn't very clear. Best thing to do is get someone to work the steering and check for movement in this joint.
The drop arm ball joint can (or at least it could a few years ago) be bought seperatley, and is fairly cheap.

Thanks for that red disco, with the help of Muddy we have figured out its the kit thats needed. This is the part that needs sorting.

It's a kit and it cost me £6.95 + VAT from Paddocks in Feb.,i know cos mine failed it on this.
wizard:
If you dont get around to fitting your front reg plate, just take it out of the Disco when it goes for a retest.
It is not a MOT failure if you dont have one, its just a failure if you have one and its not fitted...
