discs for the back
wayneo:
Is there any known probs in fitting a disco rear axle to my drum braked 90?
can i use my diff and harfshafts?
will the hubs be use able?
what about brake lines?
and what about the top ball joint?
i think every else is the same, straight swop. or is it ?
Xtremeteam:
its a straight swap as the disco axle (94 onwards) is the same axle fitted to the defender (94 onwards)
pre 94 its the same as the rangie axles & AFAIL its straight swap
( i put a post 94 axle onto my B plate 90 to replace the drums  )
extreme90:
everything is the same except for the halshafts/hub which are different to a defender with drums
why do you want to put the guts in the axle from your 90 just fit a complete axle from either a rrc or a disco up to 94 when it changes to 24 spline and the drive flange changes
i have a 1987 rrc axle on my 90 straight swap, just the ball joint is i night mare to part company, gets very snug  just let the axle dangle and give the ball join a few clouts with a big hammer and bar and it will go eventualy, BUT KEEP CLEAR OF THE FALLING AXLE as it isnt the lightest thing in the world lol
wayneo:
is the diff ratio the same! yea 24 spline is stronger? could i put them in the front axel aswell? ive herd the ball joint is a bitch to get out ill probley put a new one in why its in bits got a press at work thanks m8 u got me thinking now
Xtremeteam:
the diff ratios are all the same throigh out the coil sprung range
