--- Quote ---Right I know this is going to open a whole can of worms but I would like to ask a few questions.

As a 4x4 owner and offroader and (former) walker do the rambers association/rambling community as a whole except the work that is done by the offroading community to keep byways open?

Do the ramblers association want to ban ALLrecreational use of 4x4/trail bikes etc from the countryside or publick rights of way e.g. BOAT's (byways open to all traffic)?

Do the ramblers association/rambling community except that its not all 4x4/trail bikers who are causing the damage that is so offten associated with us, but that most damage is caused by the irresponcible minority who dont have the sence not to drive a greenlane when it may result in damage to the surface of the lane?

Do the ramblers association/rambling community except that not all recreational offroad drivers illegaly use rights of way designated as footpaths or bridleways which have no vechicular access?

slightly different issue but still in the same vein.
In a recent mail shot that was sent out by the ramblers association and I quote "the huge increase in 4x4 and other offroad vechicle ownership (some estimates say 400% in 10 years)Has lead to a deline in the condition of many byways" end quote

On what figures are the stated 400% increas in sales based?
Is this for ALL vehicle sales - i.e. are ALL car sales going up because MORE people are driving?

i.e. has the actual overall percentage REALLY changed?

And finaly Do the ramblers association/rambling community ignoledge the work of groups such as GLASS (the greelane association -www.glass-uk.org )who promote the responcible use of the countries byways?

PUX:
Hey i bet they take ur thread of the forum

Edge:
We should all join and start to post questions/comments just to quietly get our point of view across, open up their followers blinkered eyes a little. The worst thing would be to join and turn them against us more.

PUX:
yes we could do that borders but i have been told that when u put things ob their forum, if the topic questions there ideas and reasons they just delete it from the thread so they hide it from public view i might be wrong but that is wot i have been told :?
