Headlight Replacements which one's
TOM:
About 15 years ago I had a Series 3 and replaced the headlights with some Cibie Z180, a great light with excellent beam qualities, on high and low beam. Im told you cant get them now (unless you know different).
Can anyone recommend a great replacement in todays shops. Which is best :?:
karloss:
Can't really comment except to say the only ones I ever seem to see are wipac and ring. Think I'd go for the wipac personally. They all seem about the same price anyway. Let us know how you get on tho' coz I'm looking to upgrade mine in the not too distant.

wipac quadoptics are the ones to go for
you can get them from Mini dealers as well.

Check which ones you have fitted now before you buy the Wipac replacements.
I've got an old 1985 NAD and somebody previously fitted new headlights. The only thing they didn't check was the older headlights don't have a built in sidelight bulb, so as the wiring wasn't there they just didn't fit the sidelight bulbs in there sockets....result...everytime you take a dip in the bath the headlights fill up with water and mud. :(
I've had to swap them for new units without side light holes. Now works a treat and all for £23.00 if I remember correctly.
Check first.

absolutely right m8 - the quadoptics come with and without sidelight holes - the reason my lights go knackered in the first place was due to the water coming in thru the side light holes. Thats why I have ones without now.
