I'm going to make one using cheap parts off ebay when I get the chance.  Not necessarily so I can wade, but if you saw the contents of my oil bath air filter after a day of laning you'd understand the need.

bullfrog:
I reckon those tractor air intake tops on ebay are great value @ only £6 but only 50mm. Ok for a suzuki or similar engine sized 4x4. You really want the 75mm type for a landrover .They are £24  from Matt Savage. Get some 3" pipe from an exhaust place and a bit of flexi from most pipe places.
You can use 2 old rangie filler necks as they split at the body but the bend is perfect. Ask at a few LR garages .
The paddocks one is only £65 so probably just worth getting that and adapting it for your needs.
Drain pipe is ok untill a branch breaks it and wading is over for day. OK if you just want it for water and dont do a lot of close laning !

Richie_EB4:
IMHO.........you need something you can trust not to leak or fail when in water..........could ture out to be a very expencive snorkel if you get water in your engine...........Safari snorkel all the way.
Not heard any bad thing from them.

dogwood:

--- Quote from: "jim-willy" ---Rebel 4x4 if it is for a Defen'er, cheap and does the job, in my opinion it looks better than those plastic ones anall.

i think jim has the idea and if i remeber right they are cheap about 69 pounds
